About Game Errors
A game error is an issue that arises that prevents a user or multiple users from connecting to a server, or may cause users to lose connection to a server.
Error | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Missing args (code x) Invalid Argument. |
Authentication | The authentication request was missing a valid parameter and cannot authenticate. This error only occurs when a malformed request is sent. 0 = Missing token, 1 = Missing Steam ID, 2 = Missing Server IP, 3 = Missing Player IP or missing version. |
Version mismatch | Authentication | You are on a version that is different than the version of the server. This can be due to many different reasons, including an outdated client, or a public beta. Ensure the server that you are attempting to connect to is on the same version as you are. The server might be updated to match a beta, whereas your client is not. Likewise, you may be in a beta when the server is not, or you may be on an outdated version of SCP:ET. |
You are not authorized to play on this SCP:ET build | Authentication | You are attempting to connect to a server on a beta version of the game that you are not authorized to play. This may be due to illegitimate sharing of a private beta code. Ensure that you have proper access to the beta you are attempting to connect to. |
Client failed to authenticate in time | Authentication | Authentication did not complete before it expired. This error can happen due to many different reasons. Often times, attempting to re-connect fixes the issue right away, however it could also be related to a slow internet connection. |
There are currently no relays available | Authentication | Occurs when attempting to connect to a Relay server during an LRM Relay outage. Report the issue to SCP:ET developers if it has not already been reported, and wait for a fix from them. |
Authentication has been rejected by a server modification. | ServerMods | Occurs when a server modification, such as a plugin, prevented you from joining the server. Questions about this error should be directed to the owners of the server, who will likely know what modification is preventing you from joining. |
You have been banned for cheating | Gameban | You have been manually banned for cheating on a public server. This ban can only be applied by SCP:ET global moderators. You cannot play on public servers globally, and you can only play on private servers that choose to ignore global bans. This ban cannot be revoked - do not cheat. |
Active Publisher ban for app: SCP: Escape Together. | Gameban | You have an active Steam ban for SCP: Escape Together. |
You have been kicked by an administrator. | ServerBan | You have been removed from a server by a staff of the server, likely for breaking the rules of said server. Kicking is typically used as a warning, however usage of kicks is up to discretion of the staff team of the server. You can rejoin a server you have been kicked from. Kicks are NOT applied by SCP:ET staff, but rather by staff from the server itself. |
You have been banned by an administrator. | ServerBan | You have been banned from a server by a staff of the server, likely for breaking the rules of said server.
